چکیده

ifurcation, the division of an artery into 2 branches, is a ommon anatomy feature of the human coronary tree and is ecognized as a common site for atherosclerotic plaque buildup ue to the differences in coronary flow, turbulence, and shear tress at the site of the bifurcation. The prevalence of bifurcaion stenosis in the human coronary tree is reported to be etween 15% to 20% of all interventions and is considered omplex and challenging for percutaneous intervention.

Coronary Artery Bifurcation Lesions: a Review of Contemporary Techniques in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

Percutaneous intervention of coronary bifurcation lesions continues to challenge interventional cardiologists. Nonetheless, the past decade has seen an explosion in the development of clinical novel techniques and well-conducted trials validating the relative efficacy and safety of these techniques. For the most part, consensus has emerged regarding the preferred technique, that being provision...

Update on disease: percutaneous coronary intervention of bifurcation lesions

Coronary artery bifurcation lesions pose a particular challenge in the field of interventional cardiology. Bifurcation interventions are associated with a higher rate of shortand long-term complications, with restenosis at the ostium of the side branch remaining the biggest problem. Currently, stenting the main branch with provisional side branch stenting is the prevailing approach. However, th...

Percutaneous coronary intervention of bifurcation lesions: state-of-the-art. Insights from the second meeting of the European Bifurcation Club.

© Europa Edition 2007. All rights reserved. Introduction Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in bifurcation lesions remains complex in many respects. Part of the complexity relates to the variety of situations, definitions, treatment and outcomes which are related to this anatomical configuration. In order to develop a consensual view on the many aspects of coronary bifurcation lesions, th...

Flow Patterns at Stented Coronary Bifurcations

Coronary bifurcations remain one of the most challenging lesion subsets, even in the era of drug-eluting stents. Single stent implantation in the main vessel with provisional stenting to the side branch vessel has been found superior to double stenting and is considered the default approach in most coronary bifurcation lesions. However, in true bifurcation lesions, this provisional approach may...

Clinical Outcome of Double Kissing Crush Versus Provisional Stenting of Coronary Artery Bifurcation Lesions

BACKGROUND Provisional stenting is effective for anatomic simple bifurcation lesions. Double kissing crush stenting reduces the 1-year rate of target lesion revascularization. This study aimed to investigate the 5-year clinical results of the DKCRUSH-II study (Randomized Study on Double Kissing Crush Technique Versus Provisional Stenting Technique for Coronary Artery Bifurcation Lesions). MET...
